It is with great excitement we enter into Our 3rd year of our grass roots event for the awesome Autism Community in So-Cal and BEYOND!! Each year the goodwill feelings grow and swell. After all, ART is undeniably a way to the HEART of all matters. With this event we also seek to open the MINDS to all matters!
Big, small, happy, sad, difficult, easy…the matters that make up a LIFE. An Autistic life or a Non-Autistic life. We all experience these matters of the heart and mind just amplified in different measures. Both halves of this equation bring a lot to the table that the other cannot provide. We all have unique talents, thought processes and skill sets that the other needs. We need to support, understand and accept these differences and use what each entity offers the equation. That is diversity equality in a nutshell if you ask us!
That is why we all need to be different from one and other. Equally worthy. There is no ‘prototype’ normal person that “does it all”. That is the biggest myth of all in life. Simply put, that person never existed. No matter how hard society may try to sell us on that imagery 24 hrs. a day. We all have strengths and weaknesses that need to be applauded and supported. We are always better working together. Understanding that, and utilizing each others talents accordingly is the best way toward a cool forward progression.
Autistic minds have not been given credit where credit is due. People on the Autism Spectrum have all kinds of talents, thought processes and skill sets to get things done on this planet. This is a simple yet unrecognized truth. Possibly all of the most brilliant and exceptional minds this world has seen were Autistic on some level.
At the AutismHWY.com Awareness Chalk~Art festival we celebrate our lives and we showcase the skill sets we have. We fraternize and make friends in a creative and positive environment. We seek to teach people what we have learned from our loved ones, each other and our friends on the spectrum. Sharing useful information with our community in a very vivid, colorful fashion! We have all been needing this mindful awareness that the Autism Spectrum seems to stimulate. So come out and see how we can color your perception about Autism and what Autistic people are capable of…
